With his latest, The Lost City of Z, Gray strikes out into uncharted territory-the depths of the Amazonian jungle.
Adapted from David Grann's novel of the same name, The Lost City of Z also stars Edward Ashley as Arthur Manley, a budding young corporal who accompanies Fawcett on his suicidal mission.
"The Lost City of Z", directed by James Gray ("The Yards", The Immigrant") and starring Charlie Hunnam ("Sons of Anarchy") as Fawcett, along with Tom Holland as Fawcett's son Jack and Robert Pattinson, retells Fawcett's journey.
Leading the wild goose chase is Pacific Rim'sCharlie Hunnam, who takes point as Lieutenant Colonel Percy Fawcett, a wide-eyed, British-born explorer who plots course for South America circa 1925 to uncover the greatest treasure of all: a fabled city known simply as "Z".
The studio describes the film stating, "An epically scaled tale of courage and obsession, told in James Gray's classic filmmaking style, "The Lost City of Z" is a stirring tribute to the exploratory spirit and those individuals driven to achieve greatness at any cost".
Bleeker and Amazon Studios released a teaser trailer for the film earlier this year, but this marks the first full-length trailer for the film.
Also starring Robert Pattinson, Sienna Miller, and Tom Holland, The Lost City of Z will hit theaters in NY and Los Angeles on April 14th before going wide the following week.
