One of United Kingdom television's most affecting comedies is making its return, with Fleabag now confirmed for a second season.

Phoebe Waller-Bridge believes she has come up with an idea that is "good enough" for second season of Fleabag, and thus it will come to fruition probably sometime in 2018.

Adapted from her award-winning Edinburgh Fringe play, series one of Fleabag starred Waller-Bridge as an angry cash-strapped and grief-riddled young woman coming to terms with a recent tragedy in London. It also wouldn't have been a shock for the show to end a one season simply based on Waller-Bridge's schedule seeing as she also created the show and has more than enough projects lined up over the next few years to keep her busy. "We are all trying to make it work and have the same team back".

The six-part series starred Olivia Colman, Bill Paterson, Poldark's Hugh Skinner and U.S. comedian Brett Gelman.

Creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge has told the Radio Times that filming will start on November.

It looks like 2017 could well be the year for Phoebe Waller-Bridge with the actress and writer in high demand at the moment, having already landed a showrunner gig on BBC America's Killing Eve, as well as a part in the upcoming Han Solo spin-off movie.
