Pat Adams, 87, had her birthday wish come true after Clooney turned up unannounced with a card and a bunch of flowers.

The Hail, Caesar! actor, 55, stopped by Sunrise Senior Living UK in Sonning, England, on Sunday.

The care home's concierge, Linda Jones, posted on Facebook that she was in "utter shock" when she saw the Oscar-winning star arrive.

The Ocean's Eleven star and his wife Amal own a countryside home near the Sunrise Sonning Retirement and Assisted Living Facility in Reading, and staff members recently chose to reach out to the actor in a bid to convince him to stop by and make Pat Adams' dreams a reality. "So letters have been sent asking would it be possible for her dream to come true".

George Clooney just gave a fan the greatest gift ever by turning up to help her celebrate her birthday.

Malcolm Hague, divisional support general manager at Sunrise of Sonning, said: "We are so delighted that Pat's wish came true".

A Sunrise spokesperson told the BBC: "This was a classy gesture from a wonderful man".

George moved to Sonning, where he lives with his human rights lawyer wife Amal.

Last month, George's mother Nina confirmed that the British-Lebanese barrister (born Alamuddin) is expecting twins - a boy and a girl. "We've sort of embraced it all with arms wide open", Clooney said during an interview on French show Rencontres de Cinema.

'Then it got really quiet, ' he said.
