A man's been jailed after appearing in court in connection with the theft of a charity box that was raising money for Bradley Lowery.

The suspect is accused of taking the box from the Lunch Box shop in Peterlee on 19 March.

The money was later recovered by Durham Police, and a man was arrested at 3:30am on Monday.

Bradley's family recently announced that the five-year- old from Blackhall Colliery in County Durham has recently developed a new tumour on his back. "@Bradleysfight. Keep fighting buddy".

The force said the arrest came as a result of information from members of the public.

Earlier this season Everton shocked his family by pledging £200,000 towards his ground-breaking treatment in the US.
