The Jets hosted veteran free agent wideout Quinton Patton for a visit on Saturday afternoon.
A former Louisiana Tech standout, Patton played just two seasons in Baton Rouge but posted impressive numbers, totalling 2,594 yards and 24 touchdowns in his time down south.
A fourth-round pick of the 49ers in 2013, Patton has spent the entirety of his four-year career in San Francisco. He's recorded 73 catches for 880 yards and a single touchdown. He also had four catches vs. the Jets in the Green & White's overtime victory at San Francisco on December 11. With New York he would reunite with offensive coordinator John Morton, who was San Francisco's receivers coach when Patton entered the league.
In 2016, Patton had a career high 37 catches and 408 receiving yards. The team released Torrey Smith two years into his five-year, $40-million contract.
