SIU charges Chatham-Kent police officer with sexual assault, breach of trust

The Special Investigations Unit says a Chatham-Kent police officer is facing charges in connection to an alleged sexual assault involving a 33-year-old woman.

About 1:30 p.m. a man and woman were at their home in Chatham when they started arguing.

Police say the argument escalated and the woman lunged at the man, knocking him off his feet.

The CK police officer was also previously charged with sexual assault and breach of trust in relation to an incident that occurred in August of 2015.

She was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service headquarters to be held for a bail hearing, police said.

Miller is scheduled to appear at the Chatham Court House on April 4 to answer to the charges.

Police said no medical attention was required and the accused was arrested and charged with assault.
