The Chicago Bulls powered past the Boston Celtics 111-97 Tuesday to take a 2-0 lead over the Eastern Conference top seeds in their National Basketball Association playoff series, while the Toronto Raptors avoided falling into an 0-2 hole. Former Celtic Rajon Rondo contributed 11 assists and was one rebound away from a triple-double as the Bulls pulled away in the final moments of the game. Dwyane Wade scored eight of those points.

Game 2 takes place on Tuesday, then Thomas will travel home to Tacoma, Washington, before rejoining the team before Friday's Game 3, Stevens said.

The Bulls had control of the game by dominating on the offensive glass, beating the Celtics in rebounds 43-38.

Boston Celtics' star player, Isaiah Thomas, had an emotional first round matchup against the Chicago Bulls after finding out his sister's death just hours before the game.

Boston's Isaiah Thomas, playing a day after his 22-year-old sister, Chyna Thomas, was killed in a auto accident in their home state of Washington, scored 33 points. Stevens said no funeral date has been set, but the Celtics plan to attend. He also grabbed nine rebounds and Robin Lopez hauled down eight of his team's 20 offensive boards in the win.

Bradley found inspiration in the way Thomas performed in Game 1. What could they do to keep that momentum going and win Game Two?

"I mean, you're not going to slow down Isaiah Thomas". After scoring 28 points on 13-of-18 shooting in Saturday's 97-83 win over the Raptors, Giannis Antetokounmpo was just nine-of-24 from the floor in Tuesday's loss. Now it's time for Game Two.

Toronto Raptors found their playoff feet as they drew level in their Eastern Conference first-round series against the Milwaukee Bucks. "I know tonight he was playing for his sister, playing for his family".

However, after two games, they have a 2-0 lead and now seemingly have everything to gain. The home crowd left disappointed but still hopeful their team would bounce back in Chicago.

Yet freed on Sunday the forward turned in arguably his best game as a member of the team. That ended up helping him get up to 33 total points in the game, and even though it wasn't enough to get the Celtics the victory, it was enough to keep them in the game until the closing seconds of the contest. We have the unit to go to Chicago and take Game 3.

LeBron James paid tribute to Isaiah Thomas on Monday, offering his condolences to the grieving Boston Celtics star following the death of his sister in a vehicle crash at the weekend.
