News. "We're talking to Liane Moriarty, who wrote the book, about how could these characters go on, what would happen?"

The show, based on the book of the same name by Liane Moriarty, was produced by and starred Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon. News about a possible second season, Witherspoon said: 'Yeah, Nicole and I just spoke about it three days ago. In a recent red-carpet interview with E!, Witherspoon confirmed that talks about another season of Big Little Lies are indeed happening.

Previously, the "Wild" star told fans that a sequel would rely on whether Moriarty would return to the characters. We won't give you a season two because it's so good like this. "We definitely left it open-ended so there's a possibility there", Witherspoon said.

Author Liane Moriarty is not closing the door on another chapter of her book adaptation.

She said: "I have started to think about ways this could continue".

It looks like there could be another series of Big Little Lies on the way. "I wouldn't write a new book but perhaps a new story and then we'll see what happens".

However, the director and executive producer, Jean-Marc Vallée, is not keen on the idea of another series, but he would like to see Reese and Nicole, 49, reunite for something new. I'm just thrilled that people love 'Big Little Lies, ' that they wanted to watch it every single week.

Big Little Lies co-starred Kidman as Celeste Wright, Shailene Woodley as Jane Chapman and Zoe Kravitz as Bonnie Carlson.
