It is the director's first feature since The Grand Budapest Hotel which was released in 2014. We don't know a huge amount about Isle of Dogs except that it is, according to IMDB, about a boy's odyssey in search of his dog, it has a killer cast, and, from the poster that was just released, it is set in Japan. Check out the teaser poster design in the gallery viewer below.
The cast will feature Bill Murray, Yoko Ono, Bryan Cranston, Jeff Goldblum, Kunichi Nomura, Mari Natsuki, Greta Gerwig, Frances McDormand, Akira Takayama, Tilda Swinton, Scarlett Johansson and more.
Written, directed, and produced by Anderson, Isle of Dogs began production last December and Fox Searchlight revealed a first look at a dog named Rex, voiced by Norton. "His ability to write smart and unconventional screenplays and then translate them into unique experiences on screen makes him not only a unique voice in film, but one who can truly bridge the gap between independent films and cross-over hits".
Following the success of "The Grand Budapest Hotel", Wes Anderson has opted to return to animation for his next film, a genre the filmmaker hasn't explored since "Fantastic Mr Fox" in 2009.
The film tells the story of a young boy searching for his dog in Japan and features numerous usual actors seen in Anderson's films.
