Orioles' Machado blasts Red Sox organization in expletive-filled rant

- Before the Orioles and Red Sox took the field on Wednesday one night after Adam Jones accused fans at Fenway of taunting him with racial slurs, a few Major League Baseball players took to Twitter to express support for Jones.

Jones received a personal apology from Red Sox team president Sam Kennedy on behalf of the club.

Baltimore Orioles starter Kevin Gausman was ejected in the second inning of Wednesday night's game against the Red Sox after he hit Boston batter Xander Bogaerts with a pitch. Hardy picked up the dropped ball and threw it to second baseman Jonathan Schoop, who tagged out the Red Sox' Mitch Moreland before he could get back to second base.

In the first inning of Baltimore's 5-2 loss to Boston, Red Sox ace Chris Sale threw behind the O's slugger.

"The racist words and actions directed at Adam Jones at Fenway Park last night are completely unacceptable and will not be tolerated at any of our ballparks", Baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred said in a statement.

Machado was still furious after the game over Sale's pitch.

It's a good thing the Red Sox held on for the win, because the non-infield fly call could have become quite controversial. It's [bleep]-ing [bleep]. I've lost my respect for that organization, that coaching staff, everyone over there. "Your ignorance is not going to affect what I'm trying to do", he told the Boston Globe.

"He's got to go through some conditioning", Farrells aid. Let people be who they are.

"Whatever, man. I'm not losing sleep tonight", Sale said.

"It just shows that people live in their own world", Jones said.

"I just appreciate what they did", Jones told reporters just outside the visitor's clubhouse after the game. I could up there and crush somebody if I wanted to.

Farrell said the team has been consulting with Dr. Micky Collins, a concussion expert who worked with Holt past year.

The only question remaining is, when is this unsafe game going to end?

"Nobody approves of this, know what I'm saying? I don't think anybody deserves to go through anything like that", he said.

Tensions between the two teams have been high since Machado slid into Dustin Pedroia and injured Pedroia's leg in an earlier game this season. Pedroia missed the next three games. Two days after the slide, Red Sox reliever Matt Barnes threw a fastball behind Machado's head and was suspended.

Plate umpire D.J. Reyburn immediately issue a warning after Sale's pitch to Machado, and Orioles manager Buck Showalter came out for a lengthy discussion with Reyburn. "You don't want to see it anywhere". We have to bigger than that, let it roll off our shoulders and continue to play the game.

Mookie Betts took to Twitter, urging fans to give Jones a standing ovation.
