When you think about the great defensemen who've played for the Nashville Predators, you think of those who've left (Shea Weber, Ryan Suter) and those who picked up the torch (P.K. Subban, Roman Josi). If he keeps going at this pace in the playoffs, he might just be considered another star.

Ellis continues to kill the Blues.

"They're going to be a desperate team down 2-1", Predators goaltender Pekka Rinne said.

Much has been made of the New York Rangers' less-than-stellar work at Madison Square Garden in recent playoff appearances, yet it sure felt like a return home did the trick in shrinking Ottawa's series lead to 2-1 in Game 3.

It's worth noting that this isn't just a playoff fluke run.

Yeo was upset about the call and said he didn't get an explanation. It's worked all series.

"I got my stick on it and just tried to put it on net", Neal said.

"It is the first time I see a referee not let the captain talk to them", Pietrangelo said.

"That was a hard-checking have to compete for every inch of ice out there, and I thought our guys did a good job", Nashville coach Peter Laviolette said.

Neal supplied the eventual game-winner when he won a puck near the top of the right circle, spun and ripped a wrister over Allen's stick side at 13:03 for his second tally of the postseason.

That proved to be the game-winning goal after Edmundson scored with a shot from the left circle through two players in front that banked in past Rinne, giving the Blues a chance.

Former Jets and Bills coach Rex Ryan also was in the stands for his second game this series wearing a Predators' sweater. "The power play's got to be better". He denied Vladimir Tarasenko twice on point-blank looks from the high slot before the midway point of the first period. It marked the seventh straight game in which Ellis scored, tying the franchise record set by Colin Wilson last spring.
