According to The Hollywood Reporter, Fox has officially canceled Murphy's teen-oriented horror comedy Scream Queens after two seasons. Season 2, however, was pretty weak across the board.

"It feels as if it was a complete series".

Fox chairs Dana Walden and Gary Newman confirmed that the Ryan Murphy anthological series had reached the end of its run during a conference call with reporters Monday morning, ahead of the network's upfront presentation.

The show never found a huge audience, but it drew a loyal fanbase of young viewers so the show was renewed for a second season. "There is no plan to go back and tell more stories". It was all the action of Scream 2, and featured the ludicrous deaths of the Urban Legends series, but with bucket loads of blood-soaked comedy and more memorable characters for good measure.

Ryan Murphy's TV empire just got a little bit smaller.

"Scream Queens" had so-so ratings in Season 1 but overperformed a bit with people under 35, which helped secure its renewal.

And the "Scream Queens" stars are moving on to even more promising roles. Although showing strong buzz on social media and bringing in a younger demographic for the channel, Season 2 premiered and ended with almost half the viewers that tuned in for its first run.
