Trevon Duval, arguably the top point guard recruit in the country, has committed to Duke.

Duval's decision to pick Duke over Kansas, Baylor, Seton Hall and Arizona gives the Blue Devils the true playmaking point guard they've lacked the last two seasons. "I'm excited to evolve as a student, as a basketball player and now, and forever, as a Blue Devil".

Duval made his announcement on The Players' Tribune website.

Duval joins a top-five recruiting class that also includes the top-ranked shooting guard and power forward in the 2017 class.

It was believed that Duval was headed to Duke for weeks and when Frank Jackson announced he was staying in the NBA Draft on Friday, it cleared the way for Duval to make the announcement official.

This past season, Duval averaged 16.2 points and 7.7 assists for the Ascenders, who finished ranked No. 11 in the USA Today Super 25.

Duval, one of the nation's most sought-after players, will play at Duke. (No. 7) headline the rest of the group, along with ESPN 100 prospects Jordan Tucker (No. 40) and Alex O'Connell (No. 84), and Goldwire.

Other returning scholarship players are forwards Marques Bolden, Javin DeLaurier, Antonio Vrankovic.

Fellow Duke signees Wendell Carter Jr. and Gary Trent Jr. were also McDonald's All-Americans, giving the Blue Devils at least three McDonald's players in their incoming freshman class for the fourth straight season.

With the addition of Duval, Duke will once again be a favorite heading into the 2018 college basketball season.
