Marco Silva's side will now join Sunderland and Middlesborugh in the Championship next term and will be hoping they can bounce straight back up but many fear the manager will move on.

In another game, Crystal Palace ran riot as they beat Hull City 4-0.

Then Crystal Palace win one corner and score again.

In each of Palace's four Premier League seasons since their promotion in 2013 they have been threatened by relegation.

Hull manager Marco Silva, meanwhile, said he needed a frank discussion with Tigers owner Assem Allam before he decides whether to stay on Humberside. The first sentence the boys said in the dressing room - and I didn't have to say it - was "one more game".

Hull's fate was officially confirmed by Crystal Palace after they were drubbed 4-0 in Selhurst today but one thing the Tigers won't miss about the Premier League has been their bad luck with penalties. That's something we'll discuss in the future.

"We had a little slip-up after a lot of injuries, but now we've come back, and what a way to finish in your final home game". That was one target I had in my career.

Wilfried Zaha scored in the second minute to get ball rolling and Christian Benteke doubled Palace's lead 30 minutes later as they looked in control at half-time.

"Tactically we set out to nullify Hull and expose them where we thought they were weak, which is when they held a high line and put a quality ball in behind". "I respect too much the club and these fans, who have been incredible since I came here". We'll see [if I will be manager next season].

"When you put into context where we were when I arrived - bottom of the table with just 12 points from 19 games - it's been a collective effort from everyone connected to the club".

"It was a ideal performance from the players today, 4-0, a clean sheet and it's terrific for everybody that's taken part since I've been here - not just the squad but everyone behind the scenes and the fans in particularly in the end who have been behind us". Silva has further told the BBC that he expects to discuss his position with his current bosses at Hull City following the Tigers' relegation.

"I've been stating to everyone over the last few months -respect the point", said Allardyce, signed in late December to take charge of a struggling team on the basis of a reputation enhanced by saving Sunderland from the drop a year ago. The Welsh club's players were due to gather at Fernando Llorente's house to watch Hull's match at Selhurst Park, and can now plan for another top-flight campaign under Paul Clement.
