43 Ford team received an L1-level penalty from NASCAR on Wednesday after the vehicle failed post-race inspection following the GEICO 500 at Talladega Superspeedway.

Aric Almirola celebrates with a burnout after winning the NASCAR Xfinity series auto race at Talladega Superspeedway, Saturday, May 6, 2017, in Talladega, Ala. The points deduction drops Almirola from 17th in the standings to 20th, but instead of trailing Trevor Bayne for the final provisional playoff spot by one point he's now 36 points behind.

Blickensderfer explains what happened and accepts a small "loan" (or was it a gift?) from "Hub" co-host Adam Alexander that might help him with his hefty fine.

Note: Failed the post-race rear wheel steer on the LIS.

The penalties issued to Almirola mirror those handed to Brad Keselowski and Team Penske after officials found a similar violation on Keselowski's vehicle earlier this season. Blickensderfer is suspended from the next three Cup points races - this weekend at Kansas, the 600-mile race Memorial Day weekend at Charlotte and then the Dover race the first week in June. NASCAR said the auto failed rear steer measurements.

RPM released a statement saying the team will not appeal. "We look forward to Kansas this weekend".
