Former "Real Housewives of New Jersey" star Dina Manzo and her boyfriend were bound and beaten during a home invasion over the weekend and both were left with facial injuries.

Cops said the invaders "rushed towards" the couple when they opened the front door to their three-bedroom townhouse on Bayan Boulevard.

One of the two attacked Cantin with a baseball bat.

The incident happened at around 10:54 p.m. just as Bravo television star Manzo and a man identified by sources to CBS New York as David Cantin were returning to Cantin's home in Holmdel. And that's when the intruders reportedly stole cash and jewelry from David's home before they fled. Both victims were treated for facial injures, but are otherwise expected to be physically OK, officials said.

"Dina and David are obviously shaken up from the traumatic and violent home invasion and robbery". They were taken to the hospital for treatment for their injuries, which included a broken nose for Cantin, and have been released.

Dina appeared on Seasons 1, 2 and 6 of "RHONJ", and remains close friends with co-star Teresa Giudice.

"No one should ever have to go through what they did", Brettler says.

"Celebrating my Audriana's 1st communion", Manzo gushed in the caption.
