Soon after revealing this year's lineup, the organizers of Pemberton Music Festival have been canceled the event and have declared bankruptcy.

The event had been scheduled to take place from July 13-16, and up until 3 p.m. on Thursday, tickets were still for sale on the Pemberton Festival website. Ticket holders are encouraged to contact them and their credit card companies as some may offer a refund. However ticketholders may file a proof of claim form as an unsecured creditor with [Ernst & Young Inc.] in accordance with the claims process.

Unfortunately there are no automatic refunds from PMF.

However, the festival deleted their Twitter and Instagram accounts and later updated their website with the official announcement that they had gone bankrupt and the festival would not be going ahead in the town of Pemberton, British Columbia.

In an interview with Pique on May 1, Huka Entertainment chairman and chief experience officer A.J. Niland spoke of the financial risks associated with the festival.

Pemberton Music Festival 2017 has been canceled. He received word of the cancellation Wednesday night.

Wednesday afternoon, a festival goer commenting on the Facebook page was told that wristbands will be shipped out two to four weeks before the event. "As far as I know, they have no assets".

"I feel pretty sad", he said. There is a kicker for those who were stoked to catch the likes of Chance the Rpper, Muse, A Tribe Called Quest, HAIM, Run the Jewels, Major Lazer, Zeds Dead, Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals, GRIZ, Diplo, Big Sean, Ween, Nelly, Tegan & Sara, MGMT, Future Islands, Migos, Local Natives, Logic, and many more.

PMF now joins the Squamish Music Festival, which was cancelled previous year.

Way Home Festival is headlined by Flume, Imagine Dragons, Frank Ocean and Justice and runs from July 28-30.

At that time, Republic Live honoured fan's tickets at its annual Boots and Hearts Festival, Canada's Largest Country Music Festival, which is now in its 6 year.

The event is produced and promoted by Huka in collaboration with the Village of Pemberton, Sunstone Group, Lil'wat Nation and Squamish-Lillooet Regional District.
