In Oklahoma, a tornado damaged much of a subdivision on the southern fringe of Elk City, Oklahoma, about 110 miles west of Oklahoma City. Ringer also told the AP the storm destroyed 40 homes and severely damaged 50 to 75 others. It was not immediately known if there were injuries.

Two people were killed Tuesday - one in Wisconsin and another in Oklahoma - following tornadoes and severe storms that ripped through several states. "And so I would say there was probably six to eight trailers in a row but there's nothing there but debris", said the sheriff for Barron County, Chris Fitzgerald. There were at least 25 other people injured when the tornado hit the Prairie Lakes Estates trailer park, and many people living at the trailer park have been left homeless.

"It's a mess", Fitzgerald told the Leader-Telegram of Eau Claire.

At least one child is among the injured.

In 2013, a meteorologist from Oklahoma City faced extensive criticism after telling viewers to get in their cars and drive away from the storm, particularly those in mobile homes.

"We ended up on the rubble, glass and stuff underneath us", said Gloria Myer, who lost her home.

As dazed survivors wandered around screaming and crying, Black said he and his wife, Shelly, tended to several wounded trailer park residents, applying ice packs and cleaning up blood as best they could.

An alert that went out just after 5 p.m. Tuesday warned that a severe thunderstorm with strong rotation was heading east across southern Barron County.

Risenhoover estimated that about 20 to 30 Elk City area-homes and businesses were damaged and said that crews were out overnight to help residents. Mayor Jeff Martin in nearby Chetek (sheh-TEK') says turkeys can be seen wandering in the damage.

Sheriff Department officials said Wednesday 46-year-old Eric Gavin was killed by the tornado that destroyed the mobile home park.

One person died at the mobile home park, the Wisconsin Emergency Operations Center said in a statement late Tuesday.

Utility companies in Oklahoma, Wisconsin and Iowa reported more than 15,600 customers were without power early Wednesday morning. He says her sister also had her 2-month-old grandson, Nolan, in the house when the storm hit.

An outbreak of severe storms with "some strong, long-lived tornadoes", is expected Thursday afternoon and evening in parts of northwest Oklahoma and south-central Kansas, forecasters said. All other park residents had been accounted for as of 11:35 p.m. Tuesday.

The neighborhood buzzed Wednesday with chain saws, generators and a visit from Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin, who called the damage "devastating".
