It is also rumoured that a 10.5-inch variant of the iPad pro will be revealed at the upcoming WWDC.

Apple is preparing three new laptops that are expected to launch next month at Apple's annual WWDC conference, Bloomberg reported on Tuesday. The company announced the new iPad in March, featuring a 9.7-inch screen and improved processing power.

Rival Microsoft recently unveiled its own Surface Laptop as a possible competitor to MacBook Air. After all, many have said that the iPad lacks the features and capabilities to make it a true PC replacement like Apple markets it to be. We still do not know for certain when exactly the 10.5-inch iPad Pro will launch, so we just have to wait again as we did back in March when a possible April launch was discussed.

Finally, Apple may update its least expensive laptop, the MacBook Air, with a new processor as well.

From the perspective of stockholders, it shouldn't matter if Apple grows iPad revenue through unit growth or through average selling price growth, as long as Apple can get its iPad business back to revenue growth after multiple quarters of year-over-year declines. However, as reported by MacRumors, Apple is thinking on refreshing the Air model with an updated processor, which means that the MacBook Air could stick around for at least few years as a low-priced notebook choice. The launch of Apple iPad Pro will take place between June 5 to June 9.

The stall in Mac updates has not been limited to laptops.

Launched in 2012, but with no updates since 2015, the iPad mini 7.9-inch tablet was used by Apple to compete with Google's Nexus 7 and Amazon's Kindle Fire in the small tablet market which was booming at that time.

According to Bloomberg, the Cupertino company will be introducing a new MacBook Pro 2017 at the WWDC 2017 and it will come armed with a better chipset. This tweak to Apple's mobile operating system formats storage differently to older tech, supporting different file structures and organises data differently. With Apple poised to ship 10 million units of the speaker during this financial year, developers no doubt have another excellent platform to hedge their bets on.
