We don't want to overreact to a Game 1 blowout, but if they don't take Game 2, is there any doubt Boston's getting the broom?

LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers made a statement Wednesday night, trouncing the Boston Celtics 117-104 in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals. (18 points, 8 rebounds, 4 steals), Keef Morris (16 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals), and Marcin Gortat (6 points, 7 rebounds) were great on the glass. They are now 9-0 in the playoffs, chasing the Golden State Warriors at 10-0. "But for myself, I have to be in attack mode and just put the pressure on the defense and see what happens". They tried to physically challenge James more: Brown and Crowder did their best to bump him when challenging shots, and Isaiah Thomas even went body-to-body on him, knocking James down as he attempted a dunk. "So he came through for us". Wednesday's performance was the fifth straight game he has scored at least 35 points.

"Starting the game, LeBron really controlled the tempo, really set the tone early", Cleveland coach Tyronn Lue said. The only other player who has 30 or more isolations in the postseason who is scoring more points per possession and scoring more frequently is Toronto's DeMar DeRozan, who is now out of the playoffs.

Stevens is right-James's in the midst of arguably the best stretch of his career, and there was simply no stopping this version of LeBron during Game 1.

The Boston Celtics aim to level the series against the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 2 at the TD Garden on Friday.

The team with the flawless roster continued its run of perfection in the 2017 playoffs on May 17 by topping the Celtics, 117-104, at TD Garden in Boston.

"You can't dig yourself in a big hole like that against them", Boston coach Brad Stevens said.

Washington has been a dominant team at home this season, but has been lackluster at best away from the Verizon Center. The hit us first. "The refs were allowing them to hold and grab and do all those things", Thomas said". "We'll make sure it's different on Game 2".

"I felt OK last night", James said Thursday.

"But just having all these guys' back and being there for them is huge, and I embrace that". "Everybody was moving the ball, passing the ball well". This time, Smart fell to the floor during that exchange, drawing a foul on Thompson.

Celtics rallied some and actually cut the deficit to 11 with the benches cleared in the final minutes.

Boston also seemed content to make every switch created by Cleveland screens, leading to some awkward matchups for James in the first half. Just two seasons ago, Kelly Olynyk, a current forward for Boston, yanked Kevin Love's shoulder out which crushed the Cavaliers finals dreams that year. "Obviously he got comfortable with what we were doing on the defensive end, and he had his way".
