Pagliuca admits he made La La Land joke, screamed when Celtics got No. 1 pick

The NBA Draft Lottery was held Tuesday night in New York City and for the fans of the Boston Celtics, Los Angeles Lakers, and Philadelphia 76ers, it was a joyous occasion. They traded the rights to that selection away tot he Boston Celtics back in 2013 when then-GM Billy King foolishly mortgaged the farm to bring in Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Jason Terry.
One night after winning an exciting Game 7 over the Washington Wizards to advance to the Eastern Conference finals, the Boston Celtics had their dream come true, as they won the 2017 NBA Draft Lottery, giving them the No. 1 overall pick in the upcoming draft on June 22. Game 2 is on Friday night before the series shifts to Cleveland for Games 3 and 4. I don't know what's happening here.
Bledsoe is coming off his best season as a pro where he posted career highs in points (21.1) and assists (6.3) per game in 66 games before being shut down in March as the Suns tanked for a higher draft pick.
The Philadelphia Sixers have had a pick in the top-three for four consecutive years.
Colangelo, the Sixers' president of basketball operations, is hoping the player they add will fit well with the team's uptempo pace. They will not get the Los Angeles Lakers' lottery pick until next year.
The Boston Celtics are trying to go from No. 1 seed to No. 1 pick. But at the third pick, it also feels irresponsible to pass on the prospect that the team believes has the best chance of becoming an All-Star level player.
And it was Hinkie who drafted Joel Embiid and Jahlil Okafor, and also traded Elfrid Payton for Dario Saric, while putting the Sixers in position to draft Ben Simmons last summer. "We jumped up one more spot".
"I mean it helps a little bit but at the same time we're so focused on what's going on with this group of guys we have", Thomas said.
Regardless of what happens in the Eastern Conference Finals against the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Celtics are in a insane good position. "This team is a lot of fun to be around this year". Many questions still remain: will the Celtics take Markelle Fultz or Lonzo Ball, or perhaps Josh Jackson or Jayson Tatum? They could not only win again if they move up from their current fourth spot, but land another top-five pick if the Lakers fall backward.
Boston already obtained first-round picks from Brooklyn in 2014 and 2016. I didn't look that up to confirm, but I'm pretty confident that it's never happened before, so I'm going to throw it out there.
