Today, Chelsea close in on a deal for Monaco star Tiemoue Bakayoko...

It is thought that Monaco will be offered £43m in exchange for Bakayoko's services, with Chelsea considering including Belgium worldwide Batshuayi as part of the deal.

According to Bouhafsi's report, Chelsea are one of four teams in serious contention for the 22-year-old, and are hoping to beat Manchester United, Liverpool, and PSG to the punch with a quick early bid of €45m.

However, Conte could face competition from Manchester United and Jose Mourinho for the Frenchman, and given the Ligue 1 champions Batshuayi could swing the deal in their favour.

The Blues will be looking to defend their title next season and make an impact on their return to the Champions League, and France global Bakayoko could add vital depth to a relatively thin squad.

Bakayoko is reportedly keen on leaving Monaco this summer following their Ligue 1 title triumph, so both Chelsea and United will fancy their chances.

Despite coasting to the title this season, the Italian coach knows he needs to strengthen if Chelsea are to compete in the league and Champions League next year and a new central midfielder appears to be a priority.

The fact that they could get Batshuayi, who was prolific for Marseille before his move to Stamford Bridge last summer, as part of the deal may tempt them to do business with the Blues.
