Josh Cogdill and Hunter Price from the Colorado State track & field team have qualified for the decathlon at the NCAA Championships, while 27 Colorado State athletes have qualified for next week's NCAA West Preliminary in Austin, Texas. The top 12 athletes in each event from both sites will advance to the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, which will be held in Eugene, Ore., on June 7-10.

Seven women and two men will compete for the Green Wave in Lexington, matching last year's total of nine athletes slated to travel to the regional meet. The NCAA West Preliminary is hosted by the University of Texas, and is held from Thursday, May 25 through Saturday, May 27 at Mike A. Myers Stadium. Borchers was the Big Ten runner-up in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.

The First Round is split into two regions, the East and the West. Spires is the Falcons' highest ranked qualifier, holding a No. 2 ranking in the region's high jump standings, while Hulslander (javelin throw), Pater (pole vault) and Trimble (200-meter dash, 110-meter hurdles) are all ranked ninth in their respective events.

On the men's side, the Blue Devils will be represented by seniors Dylan Murphy (800m) and Connor Hall (pole vault) and sophomores Rivers Ridout (high jump), Jeremy McDuffie (triple jump) and Nicholas Solfanelli (javelin).

It will be the fourth trip for Krzyszkowski in javelin, the second for Feivor (5,000 meters in 2015) and the first for both Armstrong and Parker.

Following her sweep of the hurdling events at last weekend's American Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships, Duckett will return to regional competition for the second consecutive year, as she ranks 21st and 13th in the 100m hurdles and 400m hurdles, respectively. She was named the Most Valuable Athlete of the Meet last weekend at the conference championship after winning the discus and placing second in the hammer and fifth in the shot put. First round - Friday, May 26, at 4:30 p.m. Rotich was also a gold-medal finisher in the 3,000m steeplechase at conference.
