The film, "a Romeo and Juliet story between a punk and an alien" was directed by John Cameron Mitchell, so there's no way that was an accident. Nico Muhly, Jamie Stewart (Xiu Xiu) and Matmos will provide original music and songs. Howard Gertler and Academy Award winners Iain Canning and Emile Sherman (Macbeth) produce with Gaiman serving as executive producer. Crashing local punk queen Boadicea's party, Enn discovers every boy's dream - gorgeous foreign exchange students. But these teens are, in fact, aliens from outer space, sent to Earth to prepare for a mysterious rite of passage. When their dark secret is revealed, the love-struck Enn must turn to Boadicea (Nicole Kidman) and her followers for help in order to save the girl he loves from certain death. Fanning's Zan is wonderfully blank (if that makes sense) and Sharp's Enn feels familiar to anyone who's ever felt out of place or awkward.
