Peppa Pig owner Entertainment One has commissioned 117 new episodes of the hit children's animation.

The property now boasts 87 licensees in the United Kingdom alone, and master toy partner Character Options is readying the launch of its new hero product, Peppa's Family Home, which hits shelves in July and will be supported with a dedicated TV advertising campaign.

The media company has said it has 40 licensing partners across the globe promoting Peppa Pig toys, games and confectionary.

Peppa Pig merchandise also recently entered new markets across the Nordic region where the Character Options master toy line was being distributed by Top Toy and is now enjoying strong retail sales.

Astley Baker Davies, the award-winning animation studio behind Peppa Pig, will be producing the new season, which will bring the total number of Peppa Pig episodes to 381. Further categories will follow in autumn/winter 2017 including bedding, puzzles and apparel. Entertainment One also announced a new licensing deal for Peppa toy merchandise with DTC in Brazil.

With a new series in the pipeline, best-in-class partners and strong marketing and experiential initiatives in each territory, we continue to nurture the long term success of this global pre-school phenomenon.

Peppa Pig continues to be one of the leading preschool properties in the UK, Australia, the U.S., Spain, Italy, France, Latin America and South East Asia.

The brand generates more than US$1 billion in retail sales each year, with more than 800 licensees worldwide.
