The 30-year-old will reportedly earn 10 million euros a season, which would make him the highest paid player in Serie A.

The San Siro giants are still trying to rediscover the form that saw them dominate Italian football for many years and they only managed a sixth-place finish last season to qualify for the Europa League.

When Bonucci arrived at Milan's offices Friday to sign the expected deal, his car was surrounded by Rossoneri fans. "Our objective has to be getting into the Champions League and that is a very exciting challenge, especially with all the new signings".

It recently signed Andre Silva from Porto, Ricardo Rodriguez (Wolfsburg), Franck Kessie and Andrea Conti (Atalanta), Mateo Musacchio (Villarreal), Fabio Borini (Sunderland) and Hakan Calhanoglu (Bayer Leverkusen).

The Italy international played over 300 games for Juve and in addition to the six Serie A titles, he also won three Coppas Italia and three Supercoppas Italiana with the Turin club.

Juventus could ask Roma for unsettled defender Kostas Manolas after Leonardo Bonucci's €42m move to Milan. "In any case, Bonucci is a big reinforcement for Milan".
