Defending champion Mexico booked their spot in the quarter-finals of the CONCACAF Gold Cup Sunday by blanking Curacao 2-0 and stretching their tournament win streak to eight straight games. Here's what to watch for. A weaker opponent of Curacao's caliber gives them a good chance to work through some of the issues they've have defensively. Still, there's a reason El Salvador is currently ranked 103rd in the FIFA rankings.

But Mattocks fears the tournament may not last much longer for Jamaica if they don't improve on Sunday's outing.

We start with the most intriguing match. The team's defense has been weakened with Cuco Martina leaving the tournament to sign with Everton and a few other players not available.

Elsewhere, the USA brought in added reinforcements for Wednesday's quarter-final match.

Many Mexico fans among the crowd of more than 49,000 at Sports Authority Field were heading for the exits in the waning minutes.

On the same day and at the same venue, Costa Rica will play Panama. Blake, who plays for the Philadelphia Union, was one of seven Jamaica starters who play for MLS clubs. That said, will it be as simple as we all expect it to be for Mexico?

"I would think that you could say we wasted some opportunities, and made it pretty difficult on ourselves", Arena said after Saturday's win over Nicaragua, per Jeff Carlisle of ESPN. Mexico dominated El Salvador in their first game 3-1 and drew with Jamaica in their second game.

However head coach Theodore Whitmore believes he must make changes to the team that started and won against Curacao in order to claim a result against the Mexicans. Curacao lost to both Jamaica and El Salvador by a combined score of 4-0.

This is their first Gold Cup appearance in their history and to come away without a goal would be disappointing, especially with a somewhat talented roster.

Jermaine Taylor bailed out Jamaica keeper Andre Blake as the game approached half-time as he cleared a goalbound header from Jesus Molina off the line to keep the teams level at 0-0 before the teams headed to the dressing room.

Mexico got a scare in the 25th minute when Torres went down following a collision with Lowe.
