Report: Top winger's 'ambition' is to sign for Arsenal this summer

If Arsenal make a third offer that is considerably improved, then perhaps things could change, but the situation looks very bleak for the London club at the time of writing.

Monaco are reluctant to lose any more star players ahead of the 2017-18 campaign but Wenger is said to have made Lemar one of his top targets.

Question marks remain over the futures of Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, but with big-name additions such as these, it will surely have a positive influence on all as Arsenal hope to tie them down to new contracts.

Thomas Lemar is keen to force through a move to Arsenal from Monaco this summer, according to reports in the British media.

Monaco have already lost Bakayoko, Bernardo Silva to Manchester City and deals for Benjamin Mendy and Kylian Mbappe are on the horizon.

Lemar was pivotal in helping Monaco win the league last season, having made 34 appearances. However, while the critique of his dislike for spending is a little harsh, what cannot be doubted is the way in which he conducts his business is unwavering and unchanging.

"[Offer for Mbappe?] That's not true as well". What we know now about Mbappe is that it's over £100m. I think he will stay, it looks like that.

He goes even further, saying: The price agreed for the French winger, born in Guadeloupe in 1995, is around £48 million plus some bonuses to be added.

PSV threatened again when Luuk de Jong had an effort saved by substitute keeper Diego Benaglio, while Monaco hit the crossbar late on when Guido Carrillo, another sub, stretched to reach Allan Saint-Maximin's cross.

Stoke levelled within two minutes of the second half, Mame Biram Diouf impressively chipping in after Diego Benaglio had rashly rushed off his line moments after coming off the substitutes' bench.
