It was saying that there wasn't a second meeting between the two presidents. Everything the White House and Trump himself mentioned about the two meetings were in response to questions and or inquiries.

A person with knowledge of the process says those efforts include the political affiliations of Mueller's investigators and their past work history.

"They had a bilateral meeting that had been officially agreed through diplomatic channels, then they repeatedly exchanged views and remarks on the sidelines".

The formalities and discipline of diplomacy have been a rough fit for Trump, whose reputation as a businessman was that of a freewheeling, impulsive dealmaker.

Trump addressed his earlier, official meeting with Putin in an interview with reporters last week onboard Air Force One. When voters were told the meeting was set up so that the lawyer "could allegedly provide official documents and information that would incriminate Hillary Clinton", the share of voters who said it was appropriate rose to 28 percent - driven largely by Republican responses, which ticked up from 44 percent to 52 percent on the question...

Former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort and the president's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, were also at the meeting, along with a representative of Russian oligarch Aras Agalarov and a former Russian military officer turned lobbyist, Rinat Akhmetshin. "That is his duty".

McMaster expressed his disapproval of Trump's course to foreign officials during the lead-up to his trip to Germany.

The letter did not specify the basis for the concern over Trump's disclosures other than Kushner's repeated updates to his own form.

Mr Trump left his seat and headed to Mr Putin, who had been sitting next to Mr Trump's wife, Melania, US media said. Huntsman initially endorsed Trump's candidacy but called for him to withdraw from the race following the release of the "Access Hollywood" tape. "As the dinner was concluding, President Trump went over to Mrs. Trump, where he spoke briefly with President Putin". The session was scheduled for 30 minutes but stretched to more than two hours. In 2008, he sued the bank for $3 billion after he defaulted on a loan for Trump Tower Chicago, using a novel legal theory that he shouldn't be held to the terms of his contract due to Deutsche Bank's involvement in the broader financial crisis.

But some top aides, including National Security Adviser Gen. H.R. McMaster, have been warning that Putin is not to be trusted. Only the Trump-Putin discussion had not been reported before. "And there's no official government record, and they wouldn't even mention it". He can be contradicted at will by his own appointees.

Donald Trump Jr.'s story about what happened in the meeting changed several times before he released the emails. But Ian Bremmer, the columnist and consultant who revealed the meeting, said it lasted nearly an hour, to the astonishment of other leaders and spouses in the room.

The letter continued: "We are concerned that Ivanka Trump may have engaged in similar deception". The announcement came less than a day after the Trump administration certified that Iran has been upholding its commitments under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), a certification the administration must make every 90 days.
