Manu Kumar Jain, Vice President at Xiaomi and Managing Director at Xiaomi India said on the launch of the new Redmi Note 4 colour variant: "We are a company who believes in giving back to the community". The phone holds a dual camera setup with one 12-megapixel sensor coupled with 4-axis optical image stabilisation, a wide-angle lens, and f/1.8 aperture, and the second 12-megapixel sensor coupled with a telephoto lens, and a f/2.6 aperture. The software running is Android Nougat, with Xiaomi's proprietary MIUI 9 skin on top. The Mi Mix 2 has a 12% reduced bottom bezel and a screen-to-body ratio of 80.8%.

The rear end of the handset was kept in the dark and not much could be guessed on the basis of it.

The front camera carries a 16-megapixel sensor with 2-micron pixels.

The company also mentioned on Weibo that the upcoming smartphone has been designed in a "very interesting way".

The retail box is black and is sealed, so this is probably a unit shipped out to licensed retailers ahead of the launch or a unit from Xiaomi's own store. To show our concern for the cause we are taking up the maintenance of Kempabudhi kere, to support BBMP in bringing it back to its initial days of glory as a project under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.

Whether its international variant will pack a different processor or not, is something that the company hasn't spoken about yet. There's a reading mode, which reduces brightness all the way down to 1nit, and a blue light filter as well. The fingerprint sensor is placed at the back of the device just below the camera. The 6GB RAM/128GB variant will cost CNY 3,599 (Rs. 35,300 approx.) and the 6GB/256GB variant will be priced at CNY 3,999 (Rs. 39,200 approx.) The special edition full ceramic body variant with 8GB RAM/128GB storage is priced at CNY 4,699 (Rs. 46,000 approx.). The special edition will only come with 128GB version with a RMB 4699 ($721) price-tag.

The ceramic is initially baked, allowed to shrink at the optimal temperature to solidify, and then machined, milled, and polished to add that glossy finish. The company locked device with 64GB variant and 128GB inbuilt storage variant with no expansion with a microSD card.
