The plans have been made as neither Donald Trump or Kim Jong-un show any desire to calm their war of words.

North Korea did not conduct any launches or tests on Tuesday's anniversary. Severing moral concerns from global affairs would only weaken the US and all who emulate it.

The likelihood of success has become a matter of debate.
