By comparison, the current iPhone X has a 5.8-inch screen, the iPhone 8 Plus has a 5.5-inch display and the smaller iPhone 8 has a 4.7-inch screen. So, if you are among those noticing the green line then you should also right away go to the Apple Store for a replacement.
So far, it only appears to have affected 25 people, according to MacRumors, but the device has only been on sale since November 3. However, some users have been able to get their units replaced under warranty from their local Apple service centres and you should too, if you've been facing the same issue.
Apple's iPhone X (much like the iPhone 7 and iPhone 8) boasts dual, stereo speakers on its front side and bottom to optimize audio playback. There hasn't been anything bad enough yet to spook investors - AAPL stock remains near record highs - but the iPhone X display may yet prove to be a problem that impacts sales.
The two OLED models are said to target the "high-end" market, while the lone LCD-equipped iPhone will be aimed at "middle to low-end markets" with a predicted price between $US649 ($851) and $US749 ($982). Last week, it transpired that the device also hates cold weather and is suffering from FaceID and faulty 'green line of death' screen problems in some cases. Apple, however, had already acknowledged the unresponsive screen issue and promised a software update to resolve this. If the iPhone X is subjected to sudden temperature drops - say, a transition from a warm house and into cold streets - this causes display to become unresponsive. "This will be addressed in an upcoming software update", Apple said in a statement. The company is also working to collect "diagnostic information" from users so that it's engineering team can "investigate the issue" and provide a permanent solution for it. What exactly is going to be that price, we will get to know in the future.
