Barcelona 'holding secret talks with Antoine Griezmann'

Barcelona have agreed a deal in principle to sign Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann, according to reports in Spain.

Atletico Madrid failing to reduce their transfer ban saw Griezmann stay where he was, get a pay rise, and see his buyout clause raised to €200m, but with the condition it then returns to the 'normal' level of €100m so the Frenchman can leave in the summer.

The La Liga leaders had were reported previously to have offered Sergi Roberto as part of a player plus cash deal, so as to avoid paying Griezmann's €100 million release clause, with Diego Simeone keen on the midfielder.

The 28-year-old is still crocked and is expected to be in the treatment room until at least the New Year.
