"I love training, especially when it's an opponent that I respect, someone that brings some type of threat to me, gives me that anxiety and makes me pumped up to train. But he deserves it".

"I mean, he's got the belt".

However, it didn't exactly come as a surprise that the matchmakers were trying something so different considering how poorly most PPVs have performed in 2016 and the lack of champions available to fight on the Las Vegas card.

"It sounds like a lot of excuses to me, but you know what, I'm not going to call out a man".

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweight title holder Tyron Woodley said he agreed to a title defense against Diaz for UFC 219 on Dec. 30. I don't blame him, that's normal for a fighter cause he has the belt.

"But this is a guy who is directly connected to his brother Nick, directly connected to Conor McGregor, so it could really set me up to fight one of those guys afterward". "So they're gonna probably make, oh gosh, pay-per-view is going to be just out there because they're curious on what Nathan's going to do with Woodley". He wants to fight the best, so he wants to fight, so he wants to fight Nathan. As the time between us and UFC 219 continues to dissipate, however, this fight continues to look more and more unlikely. "He can fight McGregor". Because what Woodley is trying to do is get his name up there.

In other words, we're not surprised, motherfuckers. He dropped the rematch to Conor McGregor, losing by majority decision. He thinks the belt's important; it's not right now.

On how a Diaz vs. Woodley fight would turn out: "Well, to be honest with you". That's why he's trying to get Nathan, he's trying to get McGregor.

"So 24 hours to them could be three days, but this is my job".

"Everybody wants to see McGregor and Nathan", he said. That's all I ever hear. That's all we want to see.' That's the fight. That's the fight, that's the best fight to watch right now.

The rumours of a Nate Diaz return at UFC 219 have dampened significantly. "So that's where it should be at now".
