Second alleged Israeli attack inside Syria in a week hits research centre in Jamraya on the outskirts of Damascus.

On Tuesday, Syrian news reports said that the Israeli airstrike was aimed at the Jamarya military facility and research center, which reportedly has developed missiles, rockets and nonconventional weapons.

The foreign media reported Saturday that Israel launched five missiles from Lebanese airspace at an Iranian military installation near Damascus.

"Our air defenses are confronting an Israeli missile attack on one of our sites in the Damascus suburbs and three of the targets were downed", state news agency SANA said, adding the attacks happened at 11:30 p.m. Monday.

Syrian state TV reported that the air defense system managed to intercept three Israeli missiles.

There was no comment from Israel, which rarely confirms the strikes it conducts inside Syria.

There were no reports of damages or injuries as a result of the strikes.

Al Qoraish, an Arab newspaper published from London, reported that several Iranian soldiers were killed or wounded in the attack.

Israel says Iran is seeking to open a new front against Israel on the Syrian-Israeli border.
