The Nokia 3 will forgo Android 7.1.2 Nougat and will be upgraded straight to Android 8.0 Oreo, HMD has revealed. Rest of the specifications remain a mystery at this point but if HMD does indeed have plans of announcing the two flagship smartphones next month, we expect more leaks to pour in soon.

This report stating the launch date of Nokia 9 and Nokia 8 (2018) China launch comes from a Chinese website - MyDrivers, and it should be noted that HMD Global is yet to officially announce the announcement dates of the phones. Just like Nokia 9, Nokia 8 will also have Snapdragon 835 processor and Android Oreo. Well, makers will have a much easier time porting new versions of Android to their phones with Treble in place. Nokia 9 has also leaked in images which shows the phone to come in three colour variants - black, blue and silver.

One of the biggest USPs of the device will be the Carl-Zeiss optics that will come with dual-camera set-up. Its not impossible – the original Pixels got Treble (of course), but so did the Essential Phone along with the Huawei Honor 9 and Honor 8 Pro. The two smartphones will also be customized for the Chinese market, so there is a good chance that the global variants of the two smartphones will be announced by HMD Global at the Mobile World Congress 2018 in February.

That's about the pricing details of the Nokia 9. Nokia 8's 2018 edition may also fall somewhat at the similar price segment. This handset, which is also said to come with custom software, is said to pack an 18:9 screen, Snapdragon 835 internals and IP67 certification. The camera will have 4K shooting capability and at least of the modules will feature a 12Megapixel unit. Reports suggest that neither of the phones will include a 3.5mm headphone jack.
