When Salah plays, I want to tell my son that he scored.

The Egypt international's stunning debut season with Klopp's team has prompted inevitable speculation that he will be a target for one of Europe's wealthiest clubs this summer.

Liverpool ace Mohamed Salah is excited to be facing Roma in the Champions League semis.

He adds the March gong to those he won in November and February, making him the first player to win it three times in a single campaign.

Liverpool lead fifth-placed Chelsea by 10 points, although the reigning Premier League champions do have a game in hand, in the fight for a place in the top four thanks to a run of just two league defeats in 24 matches. We were very close to each other and we are good friends. We played together for two years and were fighting together in all the games. We have a big chance here to create something for the future.

Roma sporting director, Monchi, has challenged his players to reproduce the same spirit they showed in their comeback against Barça on Tuesday.

"But if anybody think this is the easiest draw then I cannot help this person; they obviously didn't see both games against Barcelona".

"Until we face Roma, we'll know everything about them". They played a good season having had a difficult transfer window last season, lost not only Mo [Salah] but Emerson [Palmieri]. The age group of the team is really good.

Roma sporting director Monchi believes the tie also offers the Italians hope of progress.

I knew I wouldn't push him towards anything, but sometimes I thought he might even be better off without all the clutter that football brings. I don't think about it.

The Championship side are looking to clinch promotion this season to make their way back to the Premier League for the upcoming season. I love our history but it is not allowed for us to compare it constantly'.

Liverpool haven't faced Roma since the 2002, but the still retain fond memories of the Eternal City after twice winning the European Cup there - once against Roma in their own stadium in 1984.

Salah has been superb for the Reds this season, scoring 39 goals across all competitions.
