Obama was said to be looking forward to relaxing, golfing and writing his memoirs but has now become increasingly concerned about the policies of the Trump administration. But now he has accepted the challenging role of leading the opposition and strategizing to "topple" Trump. "He was tired and burned out after eight years in office".
The Mail report states that "Valerie convinced him that he didn't have any choice if he wanted to save his legacy". His only public statement, issued through a spokesman, encouraged "citizens exercising their Constitutional right to assemble, organize and have their voices heard" following Trump's controversial travel ban last month.

Barack, who doesn't "make a decision" without Jarrett's input, is keen on getting rid of Trump, whose policies he reportedly despises.
The former president is now stoked to "use his huge popularity with the half of the country that identifies as liberals and progressives", said the Obama family source.
President Trump has repeatedly accused holdovers from Obama's administration of leaking classified information to the press.

Essentially, Trump is keeping around him the very people that are undermining his presidency.
